Heys, here are the details for the SAHARA RACE CIP: The Sahara Race is part of the 4 Deserts, named by TIME magazine as one of the Top 10 Endurance Competitons in the world. However, we will not be travelling to Africa to help out in this CIP so no worries =)) As we've heard from Mr William Wee that there will be a competitor (his friend maybe) from Singapore who will be joining the race, our job in the above CIP will be to aid him/her in publicity activities i.e. publicize the 4deserts series. NOTE: Our job scope will only comprise of off-course work and we will basically be behind the scenes volunteers. In general, we will be in a way preparing the competitor for the upcoming sahara race in October. Currently, the full job scope is still not released. The above mentioned CIP is likely to last till October, hence anyone who is interested please do inform me or your fellow comm heads asap. Thanks ppl. Hi, here are the details on the Bike Hike called Project Speedway: Bike Hike is an approximately 100km overnight cycling event around Singapore. The theme for this year's Bike Hike is "Project Speedway - Velocity Redesigned" and what makes this year's Bike Hike more unique is the support of Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee's (SYOGOC) for our event through their initiative, Create Action Now (CAN!).  Date: 30th May 2009, Saturday Time: 8pm (TBC) Venue: East Coast Park Registration deadline: 8th May 2009, Friday Registration fee: $20 (incl. event shirt, bike rental, insurance and goodie bag) Participants will get to cycle pass various landmarks in Singapore such as Singapore Flyer and Esplanade, and the route will also cover shopping hot spots like Vivo City and Orchard Road! Hi all,as instructed by the interact club, each CCA needs to submit at least 15 photos to acknowledge people who had impacted their lives. lol. so each of you please dig out at least one photo with a written message acknowledging the person/people in the pic for what he/she/they did. eg.  Miss Lee is always there for us whether we're cycling, climbing staircases, or having physical trainings. It is her presence that makes me endure through tough trips and torturous exercises without a single word of complaint, knowing that she is silently giving us moral support in the aircon room nearby. Indeed, she has impacted my life greatly. something like that. do not copy. top 3 classes/CCA with most number of submissions stand a chance to win a prize. send me (iris) the photos + messages latest by 19/04/09 (Sunday) night! Hey all!Please remember to go and pick punk for the upcoming firelighting activity. Try to pick at least 1 bag. & all the twigs shld be dry, because if they are wet, they cannot be burnt. Yepps, here are the pictures of the different kinds of twigs/sticks/kindlings [click to enlarge]  the various kinds of punk  coconut husk [kindling, good to start the fire]  also a type of kindling.  1st degree (basically, all the super thin twigs]  2nd degree  3rd degree  supporting wood [this is essential if you are going to cook/boil water] okay, so people, please go pick punk, no punk = no firelighting erm, try & pick as much as you can. kindling and all the 3 degrees de, no need find supporting wood && please do not pick dried leaves!!! because dried leaves produce loads of smoke when they are burnt. yeahhs, happy punking (:

If you guys wanna know more, can refer to the ATC website (: Gunung Lambak (Johor) trip  Gunung Lambak stands at an altitude of 510m asl. It is situated just outside the town of Kluang in Johor, Malaysia. Lambak, literally means disorderly heap, which best describes the terrain to the hilltop. Though short, the ascent is steep with ropes (and roots) along the way to assist in the ascent.The hill is just about 10 minutes out of Kluang town. From the foot of the hill, it's a gradual but steep 700m walk before arriving at the summit. With determination, any reasonably fit person should be able to reach the hilltop within 1 hour. Descending takes about the same time as one needs to be careful of the many roots along the way. Date: Either 9th (Sat, Vesak day), 10th or 11th of May. How to go: We'll take a railway train there. Money: Around $30 for transport fees and lunch.
